Mostly: Lasik reculpts the eyes inert middle corneal layers into a corrective lens, restoring vision.  Most eyes do well but a few undergrow a reshaping over time that we entitle "regression", usually in the direction towards the origin power.  Sometimes this is minimal, but can be significant.  Check with your lasik surgeon if your vision is changing.

Of course: Lasik vision correction, in the properly pre-screened patient, corrects the vision and the goal is usually to normalize the vision so glasses or contacts are not needed.  The vast majority achieve this outcome, and the rest usually get close.  It is well worked out and a very safe procedure, with little risk.

Absolutely: Lasik does a terrific job of providng glasses and contact lens freedom - in the right people. The procedure is fast, easy to tolerate and works great, but you must be a good candidate. Have an evaluation with a laser vision specialist in your area; this should be someone who specializes in only laser vision correction.

Possibly: Lasik sculpts the eye into a lens equivalent to your distance correction which means you can give up the upper part of your bifocal.  However, it does not compensate for the fact that at 55, your natural lens no longer can adjust for near.  So if all went well and it usually does, you can walk around seeing clearly but will need to get a pair of reading glasses for near work.

Lasik: Before lasik correction, you do not need to do anything special other than have the exams to be sure you are a candidate and to make sure they have all the information they need.  Afterwards, you should be given antibiotic eye drops, steroid eye drops, and wetting eye drops.  It is common to have dry eye after surgery for a few weeks due to irritation, so the wetting drops are very important.

It depends: There are several factors to consider before having an enhancement after lasik surgery. It is always helpful to have access to records from your original surgery. This will give the surgeon valuable information prior to performing an enhancement. If you don't have access to the original surgery records then there are other approaches to find out whether you are a good candidate for an enhancement.

Yes: Generally yes, 
this would depend on the severity of the glaucoma.  Lasik involves creating a corneal flap.  That process can temporarily raise the intra-ocular pressure of the eye -- which can be an issue in advanced glaucoma.  Prk is an alternative procedure without a flap.

Furthermore, lasik or prk change the thickness of the cornea, which may change the eye pressure measurements.

Yes with caution: Lasik will not correct glaucoma. After lasik patients have a thinner cornea, which will artifactually lower their eye pressure; the ophthalmologist should be aware. During lasik a suction ring is placed on the eye raising eye pressures very high, perhaps into the 90's. There have been reports of glaucomatous visual field defects occurring after lasik. Prk may be safer for these patients.

Yes: As long the pressure is under good control with eye drops and there is no progression of the glaucoma.
