Timing: Take it at the same time everyday. I would recommend breakfast becasue you should take it with food.

Yes: As long as you do not have peptic ulcer disease and take the medications with food.
If your stomach does bother you it is probably the meloxicam causing the problem.  Generally speaking you can take them together as long as you tolerate them.  consider limiting the time that you take them

: It is not ideal to be on this medicine long term without clear indication. Benefit must exceed the known risks to the stomach lining and cardiovascular system. This doesn’t mean we don’t use it, you just have to be aware of the risks and benefits.

the doctor i am seeing gave me mobic, (meloxicam),,,im not suppose to  take it every day,  but it says takes a week to work,,,does that mean it won't work for me?

It's OK: Mobic (meloxicam) can start providing pain relief right away.  The anti-inflammatory effects take 7-14 days.  This means it will work differently when you do not take it every day.  This is true of Motrin and all other meds in this class (NSAID).  They are often used as your doc recommended to help with pain and reduce side effects.

can i take meloxicam and hydrocodone/acetaminophen 5-325 at the same time?

Accepted Answer

You can: There is no drug interactions between 2 drugs Painkiller and anti-inflammatory for back pain is a great combo. However, hydrocodone/acetaminophen is good for acute pain less than 2 month. Opioids may be indicated in a small subset of patients with chronic benign (nonmalignant) pain that is refractory to all treatment protocols. I rec.: see your pain management for medication adjustment.

can u take meloxicam 15 mg & cyclobenaprine 10 mg at the same time for muscle spasms?

You can: Cyclobenzaprine  is used short-term to treat muscle spasms. It is usually used along with physical therapy.
Meloxicam nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs is being marketed as a cox-2 inhibitor, 
there is no interaction.

could i have developed gerd from taking meloxicam for a long time (2 years) and if i no longer take it will my stomach issues clear up or at least improve?

Accepted Answer

: Meloxicam does not cause GERD but this medication is well known to cause gastritis +/- peptic ulcer disease. You have to stop this medication, take medication for reducing stomach acid for 2 months and avoid foods which can exacerbate the symptoms. Your stomach will likely heal completely if you do not have H. pylori infection. Again, it is not GERD, see a doctor for an appropriate care.

i took 15mg of meloxicam at 8:30a. i take as needed, this was the first time in a month i took it. i took 400mg of advil (ibuprofen) 12hrs later. will i be ok?

Accepted Answer

Never mix!: both medications are NSAIDS and can cause gastrointestinal bleeding if taken together, as well as kidney and/or liver issues. Hopefully, you only did this once and all should be well.
