Sleep study: She should see a doctor.  The doctor needs a history and exam to determine if she is tired because of not sleeping or some other issues.  They may have her take a sleep study to determine if there is a problem with sleep or other tests to rule out chronic fatigue syndrome, etc.

can zoloft (sertraline) cause narcolepsy? i've been taking it for awhile but recently have had day sleeping. falling asleep for few secs repeatedly.

Not cause: If you have narcolepsy, it is NOT caused by Zoloft, (sertraline) but since a major adverse reaction from this drug is drowsiness, this may explain a significant bad reaction.  Could discuss with doctor, stop for a few days and see if things improve.

i've got energy but i always feeling tired during the day even after 13 hours sleep, is it my sleeping patterns?

Sleepiness: If you still feel sleepy after 13 hours of sleep something may be wrong, you may have sleep fragmentation which makes you feel tired, you could have sleep apnea that has not yet been diagnosed or there may be other medical conditions that exist.  Please see your physician for a physical and history and labs and maybe a referal to a sleep physician.

do i have narcolepsy? lately i have been unknowingly falling asleep for 10-15 seconds it seems like. is this early stages of narcolepsy?

Your : Your symptom is concerning for some form of sleep disorder, which includes not only narcolepsy but some other things as well, like sleep apnea.  It is not normal to fall asleep so quickly without knowing about it.  The good news is that if it has started just recently, it may be something you can fix.  You should see a doctor about this, who will refer you to a sleep clinic.  I would not just let it go*it can be dangerous for two reasons.  First, you could fall asleep at a dangerous moment like when driving.  Second, it may indicate another disorder like sleep apnea that has other side effects if not treated.

having no luck to slee at night, not even feeling tired. have tried sleeping pils it helps me sleep but i wake a lot up during the night. in the morning i have no energy and have a lot of headaches?

Sleep clinic: If you've read up on all the proper methods of getting a good night's sleep, followed the best practices and still have insomnia, look into going to a sleep clinic or to a specialist in sleep disorders. The goal is not to become dependent upon sleeping pills.

Internal clock: disruption.The best way to readjust your internal sleep clock is exposure to sunlight at or just after dawn.If possible,open curtains and let the sun rays stream in your bedroom.This will cause an involuntary release of natural "wake up" chemicals.When u get up U must not nap Durring the day and try to go to bed about 8 hours before dawn and repeat the cycle.If this fails,see ur doc for help.

Yes: You can have insomnia and narcolepsy.  Ritalin (methylphenidate) can cause difficulty with sleep. Please let your physician know. In the meantime, use excellent sleep hygiene. Retire ; rise same time each day. Keep bedroom dark ; cool ; use only for sex ; sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs ; no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderate.

Use really good: Sleep hygiene. Retire ; rise same time each day. Keep bedroom dark ; cool ; use only for sex ; sleep. Turn off tv. No naps. Exercise regularly but not in late evening. No caffeine for 6 hrs ; no alcohol or tobacco w/i 2 hrs of sleep. Keep dinner moderate sized ; finish at least 2 to 3 hrs before sleep. Can try warm milk, chamomile tea or melatonin along w light reading, warm bath or lavender scent.
