Yes: The recommended dosage for 2-12 yo is 40mg 4x/day. Overdose may cause "gasping syndrome" from benzoic acid. Very large amount can be fatal. Please check with your poison control center if there is overdosing.

No interaction: There is no know interaction between the two medicines and so if need be, you can use them. If your problem is severe/persistent, consult doc for evaluation--as consitpation/gasiness/bloating/cramping are often signs of irritable bowel syndrome. Consult doc. Good luck.

Usually 1-2 tabs/d: For a week. If you have not responded in that time you should go see your doc. Also, you should also examine your diet and eliminate foods known to cause constipation - rice, grains, barley, milk- and split peas.

Accepted Answer

Simethicone dosages: Simethicone weight-based dosing:
Under 10.9 kg: 20 mg orally after meals and at bedtime as needed and the maximum dose is 240 mg/day. 
Depending on the brand you bought, it could be a presentation of 70mg/1ml or 100mg/1ml.
Unrelated case reports have been documented where simethicone was administered in conjunction with another drug.

Not the best.: Instead of using Colace (docusate sodium) a long term, a better approach would be to increase the amount of fiber in your diet and consider a fiber supplement, such as Metamucil,  daily. When you do that, you should ramp up the fiber slowly, to avoid getting gassy, and you should increase the amount of fluid intake in addition.  Good luck.

: Yes, those three medications have no drug interaction and can be safely taken together. For metronidazole, avoid use of alcohol. For iron, use vitamin C, or drink it with citrus like orange juice, to help with iron absorption. If you experience side effects, you'll have to take them separately to identify which one of the three is causing it.

: I will assume you are taking MiraLAX and Colace. These would be safe to take together but you should know that the MiraLAX helps to pull fluid into your bowel and soften the stool for easy passage. The Colace is a stool softener as well and would only add to the process of stool softening. Neither product is absorbed into the bloodstream it is safe during pregnancy.
