Coffee intake: Its your decision....Coffee does not reduce triglyceride levels but may worsen if you lots of cream & sugar.

my daughter 14 had a tiny sip of coffee as an experiment and her heart rate raised up from 87 to 106 within 15 seconds. she has a cardiology appointment soon is this normal for her?

: It would be hard to separate the effect of caffeine in the coffee from the natural stress hormone release triggered by your 'experiment'. I would leave the assessment/experiments to the doc who can decide which studies to do and what they mean.

Part of risk for: Heart disease. You can reduce carbohydrates, lose weight and exercise at least 30 minutes each day and consult your doctor for advice about diet.

Modify your diet: Sounds like your TG's respond to diet. Alcohol and carbohydrates will raise TG's significantly. I would work on reducing your alcohol intake and/or reducing your simple carbohydrates. Sugars and starches such as rice, bread and pasta will raise them.  You report a high number, but I really get concerned over 500. You may wa to wet with a dietician at some point.

Get seen: I'm concerned you have a physical lesion obstructing your gut. Even if you don't, you need to find the reason. Sensible people -- even physicians -- don't buy "stress" as an easy answer. "eustress" is good -- it motivates you to excel. "distress" means you're helpless / feel helpless; if you're in an abusive situation, your physician can perhaps help u escape;are you so strung out you can't eat?

Yes: Please recheck the levels after stopping the meds and or consult the  physician who is follow \ing you

Temporary  rise in b: Coffee affects individuals differently. Some are affected by it, others not. In any case it causes a temporary rise in blood pressure but does not cause long term hypertension.

: I would guess coffee should lower cholesterol; however I would not use it to lower cholesterol if it is very high especially in familial hypercholesterolemia.

i had one cup of coffee and a 20oz coke. my hr is 92 bpm. normal for me is 70-80. would having another cup further raise my hr. when should be concern?

Use common sense: one cup of coffee has about 80mg of caffeine.  20 oz of diet coke has 71 mg in 20 oz.  for your age a tachycardia would be above 100.  If you space out the drinks you can just use common sense.  If you feel jittery then any amount is too much.

does luvox raise caffeine in coffee......as my pulse seems to be higher since starting luvox?

Side effect ?: Luvox can cause palpitations &amp;  tachycardia in 1% to 10% of people. It is considered a "common" side effect. Please reduce your caffeiene level and let your doctor know if there is a significant increase in pulse rate or cardiac symptoms. Take care
