Quiting: It is often helpful to use a supplement such as gum or a patch to quit. check with a provider to make sure it is a good fit. Course for gum is often 10-12 weeks, patches 6-10 weeks. I also suggest that you prepare to manage cravings.  This can be done through distraction/activities, setting goals and reminding yourself of those goals, and "riding" the craving out - they do pass. Be well.

Not good: E-cigs are not regulated, and some have been found to contain carcinogens and toxins (such as formaldehyde) when tested. Many are produced overseas and are an unknown risk to your health. That being said cigarettes are not good either. I would advise seeing a doctor to try a medication like chantix. The body contains nicotine receptors, and should not be harmful to the brain.

It : It depends on whether the nicotine test is a urine test, blood test or hair follicle test and how much you smoke.  For most people, a urine test takes 2-4 days to be clear, a blood test takes 7-10 days and a hair follicle test takes much longer, but is not usually used due to expense.  If you are a heavy smoker, it may take longer for the nicotine to clear from your system (up to a week for the urine test and a couple weeks for the blood test).  Smoking menthol cigarettes may also cause the test to remain positive longer than regular cigarettes or chewing tobacco.  Of course, the sooner you quit, the better it is for your health. Cotton wool spots: Without seeing you cannot evaluate "cotton wool spots." Know that tobacco in any form, smoked or chewed, can cause pre-cancerous and cancerous tissue break-down. The stronger the nicotine, the higher the risk. Any lesion that has not fully self healed in 2 weeks must be investigated. Know that time is not on your side, go see a Dentist, an Oral Surgeon, or an ENT immediately.

Possibly: Nicotine relaxes the sphincter between the esophagus and stomach which allows stomach acid to wash up and irritate the esophagus.  This can cause a sensation of heartburn.  Some people get spasm of the esophagus which can be experienced as chest pain or chest tightness.

Not sure: Looking at the ingredients (http://www.smokeysnuff.com/faq.html), should be much safer than tobacco products.
No research that I know of has been done.
