Don't need lupus for: Causes can include diet, e.g. Onions, garlic, coffee, etc., sinus issues, dental problems, some GI problems, meds, supplements. Lupus is not known for causing bad breath, but arguably could if affects salivation, etc.

You also need to make sure that you do not have some other condition like diabetes that could cause you to be dehydrated and constantly have a dry mouth. Until you are seen I suggest drinking plenty of water and avoiding caffeine, alcohol and processed sugars.

Other sources: Must consider either sinus source or possibility of gastric reflux. Is your breath worse in the morning? May be having acid reflux while sleeping. Would consider exam by ENT and discussion of GERD with physician as well if source is not oral.
