Cramping  mid cycle: Yes. Could be mittelschmerz, ovulation release of egg that occurs 2 weeks before period begins , or vaginitis,  or ovarian cyst disease, or mild colitis / ileitis ( any bowel movement issues?) also check urine for UTI Would follow up with  doc

i have cramps on my right side just underneath my ribs. sometimes severe but not always. loss ofappetite is present too. is it appendicitis?

Not likely from the: Location where you say. Appendicitis is usually on the lower right side , but there are unusual exceptions. And some time you have mild pain for a few days and they it is worse. If the pain is severe enough to keep you from walking normally or not able to do your normal physical chores you should get it checked, and be careful.

If worried, see doc: The classic symptoms of appendicitis are abdominal pain localizing to the right lower quadrant (RLQ) of the abdomen, some nausea and vomiting, and lack of appetite. On exam, there is RLQ tenderness. If the appendix has ruptured, pain and tenderness may be throughout the abdomen. Labs generally show elevated white blood count. Abdominal ultrasound or CT scan are increasingly used for dx.

Timing, severity: Appendicitis would not be a monthly recurring event like menstrual cramps.  Location of pain with appendicitis can be quite variable, but tends to be progressively worse.  If the pain your are experiencing is different than previous monthly cramps, see your doctor.  Untreated appendicitis can make you very sick and even be fatal.

Pain: Menutrual cramps are more on the bilateral associated with mentruation, and appendicits is on the right side, can have fever.

History and Exam...: This can certainly be confusing to distinguish.  Appendicitis often starts as pain around the belly button that eventually localized to the right lower side of your belly.  There is often associated nausea.  These symptoms might also occur in the setting of menstrual cramps and pregnancy!  I am happy to help you further. Typically not: Usually appendicitis presents with right sided pain, loss of appetite and some times fever.  It's most likely associated with increasing your daily activities, healing from your surgery, your uterus getting smaller or suture tugging. Contact your physician and try to get an appointment for early next week.  Take meds as prescribed. If you get fever, chills, persistent vomiting worse pain- SEE DOC!

Some basics: The appendix sits next to the big muscle that moves your right leg forward. If it is inflamed you have pain in the lower right abdomen &amp; often cannot walk standing upright. If jumping up/down on your right leg produces a lot of pain it might be appendix. Get checked out if you really think it is appendix. Getting it out before it ruptures is often a simple surgery. Let it rupture &amp; you could die.

i have fairly severe stomach cramps which i suspect is just bloating, my concern is that its lasted more than 36 hours and i have been travelling (from us so some jet lag) so appendicitis would be a bummer. anything i need to check for?

Cramps: Appendicitis is typically associated with persistent right lower abdominal ache and tenderness. True cramping is more typical of intestinal irritability, blockages or irritation/inflammation. Abdominal distension and vomiting are serious symptoms. If your symptoms are persisting or worsening, you should be examined by a physician and appropriate tests will be ordered.Otherwise eat a light diet.

i have intense burning pain in my stomach. not cramps but burning pain that is getting worse and is extremely painful. not appendicitis.

Stomach pain: that is increasing means you need to see your doctor ASAP.  There are a number of possible causes and the cause needs to be identified and treated.  Peace and good health.
