If 25-oh  vit d 3 levels are normal,  free T4 levels are normal, and cortisol is not  high in the evening, eating 6 small equal meals, managing stress skillfully, and moving though the day with some thing as simple as pretend jump roping for 60 minutes spread out in 1-2 minute intervals  should help.

Exercise: Exercise is the best known method for increasing metabolism.  For some individuals, drinks and supplements containing caffeine will increase the metabolism for a short time.  There are some medications that may speed up metabolism in some individuals.  I do not recommend street drugs, such as speed, crystal meth, etc., but they will also increase metabolism, but are addictive and lethal.

Metabolism: this should start with healthy lifestyle changes. More than looking into "increasing metabolism", your lifestyle should reflect healthy diet and exercise.
Aim for servings of fruits, vegetables, lean meats, whole grains with meals
avoid high fat, high calorie foods, avoid greasy or fast foods
exercise at least 5 days per week, aim for 60 minutes of exercise per day.
proper sleep too!

No special foods: Humans are adaptable to all sorts of foods. There are no special foods that have a noticeable effect on one's metabolism rate. Usually, whatever snacks one enjoys should be fine. The best snacks are the healthiest ones, meaning ones containing protein, whole grains, "healthy" fats, and little sugar. Caffeine and other stimulants are not recommended, even though they may increase metabolism.
