Dr may say it's safe: A primary care doctor, orthopedic doctor, or occupational medicine doctor may evaluate a person with a disability, and decide whether or not he is safe to do a particular kind of work. It is subjective, because nothing in life is 100% safe. A doctor cannot demonstrate a patient's competency to perform a job, any more than a doctor can say a particular football player will be a great quarterback.

May need to see: psychiatrist for this note if it's a bonafide phobia of yours. It would appear more credible, and verifiable. There's very few professions that you'd be exposed to spiders in reality, since they aren't often seen unless you are in the extermination business. So, realistically, it may be harder to prove it's merit if your job has no exposure to spiders. Most places are clear of these insects.

is it possible to be resistant to the  "caine"  pain medications. i can not get the doctors to believe that these don't work on me?

Interesting: I have never heard of anyone being totally resistant to these medications, although I have heard of patients having different responses to different analogs (i.e. Lidocaine working less than mupivicaine). How many times have you been injected with them and for what purpuse?
