Yes, it's possible: Theoretically, any food can trigger an allergic reaction.  The most common foods are milk, egg, wheat, soy, peanut, fish/seafood and nuts.  Squash allergy is possible but not typically life threatening.  An allergist can perform testing to determine if this was a true allergic reaction.  Itching is a very consistent symptom of an allergy and should not be ignored.

Bowel transit time: Normally takes  ~ 2.5 -5 hours in the stomach and 2.5-5 in the intestines, then 12 + in the colon.  But if you have only a diet of vegetables  and drink water/coffee which is a cathartic,   it is possible  to get more rapid transit time, as by 4-5 hours there is food in colon.  Alternatively could be from yesterday.

From squash?: From handling squash? Used only 1 hand? NOT from eating it. Best result from dermatologist. Need diagnosis first.

5 month old is only breastfeeding and been eating rice cereal for a month once a day and butternut for 2 weeks once a day. since friday has had very gassy sour runny watery stools 3 to 4 times a day.

Options: It seams  diet has triggered some changes in pooping pattern.If you can relate this in time to the squash that is a likely trigger. Rice slows pooping.  Delaying solids until a kid sits well is preferred &amp; adding slowly with a diary to note such pooping changes so food reactions are avoided. Food changes are usually evident in 3 days, disappear within a week of stopping &amp; re-appear if restarted

my 6 months old baby changed rom nan optipro 1 to  2 and he started solids. butternut, sweet potatoes carrots and rice cereal. hes been constipated and didt poo for about 4 days thereafter, his stool is small and semi hard.  should i give him meds?

Fluids: A small amount of prune juice, 1-2 ounces twice daily may relieve the symptom. Keep the baby well hydrated with formula and provide the solid feedings three times daily. Please follow up with your PCP, watch for any blood or mucus in the stool.

my 6 month baby has very hard stools once every two days. her diet includes home made pured peas, apples, pears, carrots, butternut, sweet potatoes, rooibos teas, breast milk, meat, prunes& pears store bought. 
should i be worried about constipation?

Is baby ?: If baby is bothered by the process  I would make some changes. The apples constipate many infants.Full strength prune juice 1-3 oz given spaced out usually loosens them within 3 days.
