We are too!: No one symptom definitively indicates a heart attack is or is not in progress, but many people make the fatal mistake of waiting out atypical heart pain.  "Heart pain" is often indistinguishable from esophageal, pericardial, mediastinal, gastric, &amp; chest wall distress. However, don't ignore chest pain--get evaluated ASAP.

Very, very rarely there can be genetic abnormalities with exceedingly high  cholesterol levels at an early age or congenital birth abnormalities  such as having  1 instead of the normal 3 arteries  that can lead to very early heart attacks.
