Ask ordering Dr.: One's ordering doctor can help, as numbers are just numbers. Without details and the whole picture, such as why was labwork done, numbers cannot say much. There is little meaning without the whole picture such as a patient's timeline of the disease of concern, the ups and downs of lab results over the years, his past or present meds, other disorders past and present, any recent illnesses, etc...

Family practice : It stands for blood urea nitrogen. It is usually run with a creatine test to determine how your kidneys are functioning.

No.: BUN seems normal.  It is more likely related to your intravascular volume and recent diet than anything of clinical import.

If both your: BUN and creatinine are normal, ratio is probably not meaningful number.  Ask your doctor who ordered the tests, but I am not concerned too much.

No: BUN = Blood urea nitrogen, creatinine and albumin are all different chemicals in blood and urine that can be measured. BUN/Creatinine ratio is a blood test. Microablumin/creatinine ratio is a urine test.

No: If you are a muscular male, these results would be right in the normal range. As it is the results are within normal limits. What prompted these: Tests? Do you have any symptoms? The  creatinine is within normal limits, but evaluation needs assessment of the whole person, not just lab tests.

Not significant: A low serum creatinine is probably not clinically significant and may depend on the lab method being used and your protein intake from meat. Serum creatinine measures the efficiency of your kidneys in removing metabolic waste.
