Cholesterol meds: Cholesterol medicines are safe to take and well tolerated. They do require monitoring for potential side affects however. Periodic lab test are needed. Any muscle pain or weakness needs medical attention.

No great reason: Honestly you can take it at any time. Perhaps if you get mild muscle pain, you won't notice in your sleep.

More information: needed... did you have a reaction from taking a "statin" drug...if so it will stop in a few weeks tops!!!!!!  If you needed the drug in the first place you will probably need another attempt with another "statin" (YES just because you had a reaction to one statin does NOT mean you will with another chemically different drug!

See your doctor: If cholesterol medication was prescribed, you likely have high cholesterol and are at risk for heart disease. If the medication is causing side effects, see your doctor to try a different statin.

What medications?: It would be useful to talk to your pharmacist where you get your prescriptions filled. For most of these medications there are no interactions and you could take these at the same time.

Consult doctor: Your lipid values are abnormal and you should consult a doctor for advice on diet, exercise and drug treatment. It is not a do it yourself issue.

If you don’t want to start the cholesterol medication you can take red rice yeast which is over the counter. Good job!
