: You don't mention how much blood was passed. Colon cancer would be highly unlikely in view of your recent colonoscopy findings. Both colon diverticulosis &amp; hemorrhoids can cause bright red blood in stools or on toilet paper. I'd sit tight if there's only trace amounts of fresh blood, but if lots, a sigmoidoscopy would be advisable. You could consult a colorectal surgeon to tie hemorrhoids
