i have a wart on my arm. it's fairly small. i've tried freezing it off, didn't work. i bought bandaids. i'm afraid it will begin to hurt. will it?

Doctor can help: A wart on a person's arm should not hurt. His primary care doctor or a dermatologist can get rid of it. If the primary care doctor is not sure whether it is a wart or not, the dermatologist can examine it to confirm what it is.

i had a wart on my finger backside last week ago i've been putting bandages as prescribed on it unfortanley the bandaid slipped off due to the heat from outside i shook hands with numerous people from work as i did not rtealize the bandaid slipped off now

Don't worry: Most people are immunocompetent to resist your hand shake gift. Any immunocompromised may get it. Try ducktape....it is a better treatment.

Skin Care: Nope.  Please do not irritate, bother, or in any other way mess with the wart. Get it treated at your family doctor's office.

Stop worrying: The strains of HPV that cause finger warts are different from the kind that cause genital warts, and these in turn are different from the cancer-risk ones. Well, for the most part. HPV is ubiquitous. Everybody's got a few strains. Be happy that you have a nice relationship, keep up with your regular pap smears as advised, and remember that there's a lot more to life and love than fear of HPV.

using efudex 5% for genital warts (penis shaft) once every 10 days for 10wks. i put efudex on then apply small piece of plastic over area w/ bandaid overnight. bad or good idea? dr., what is your opinion on proper application & use of efudex for hpv.

Genital wart Rx: Efudex (fluorouracil) is not a normally recommended treatment for genital warts. It often would work, but other treatments often are preferred. Occlusive treatmetn will increase side effects. Whatever treatment is used, if it doesn't work after 3-4 weeks,, another should be tried. See a doctor to reconfirm the diagnosis and advice different treatment. Several others are available. Good luck!

St Johns Wort: St. John's wort is most commonly used as a natural supplement to improve mood functioning (i.e. Depression), although its effectiveness is dependent on the severity of the symptoms. Wart treatment: If you go to your doctor, he/ she may freeze the wart with liquid nitrogen. A blister will form around the wart and the dead tissue will fall off after a week. Other medications, such as cantharidin, bleomycin and Aldara (imiquimod) can be injected into the wart. Another alternative treatment would be minor surgery, where the wart is cut away or laser surgery where the laser beam burns and destroy wart tissue.

More aggresive: There are many weapons against warts. When one doesn't work, try another. Cryotherapy (freezing) can be a very effective method. See your primary doctor to discuss all the options then try them until you find the right one for your wart.

Warts: Imiquimod is sometimes effective when freezing (cryosurgery) is not effective . With surgery often a last resort.  See a dermatologist for diagnosis and treatment options.
