6 weeks into ankle fracture non displaced just got put in walking boot for 2 weeks i wear it all day then use wheel chair at night if i have to get up. can i sleep with a ankle brace and walk to bathroom at night or should u i only walk with boot?

: You should get this information from the orthopedic surgeon treating you. You want to avoid ending up with a chronic ankle joint problem from improper healing of your fracture.

does getting braces mean you have to change your sleeping position?

Braces and sleep: In general no.  Sometimes face/mough/jaw can be sore at times which may be a factor in position you sleep.

Sleep study: You may consider a sleep study to see why you are grinding your teeth.  Some people grind their teeth to bring their lower jaw forward so they can breath better and they grind their teeth as they do this.  Check with you dentist.

please explain if it is safe to wear dental wax on your braces while you are sleeping?

Chocolate: Read the ingredients on a chocolate bar wrapper.  There' slots of wax in chocolate.  If you swallow a little wax while asleep it will "work out all right in the end."  use wax to cover "stickers" until you get used to braces.  It's safe and effective.

See your dentist : For evaluation of bruxism.  Custom mouth guards are often helpful.

Aspiration: Aspiration pneumonia can occur after inhaling liquids or small foreign bodies. Symptoms would include persistent cough, shortness of breath, chest pain, wheezing, abnormal sputum, etc.  Presence of these symptoms should prompt a visit to a doctor for evaluation.

my ring finger and pinky finger has been tingling and numb for the past 2 days. i don't sleep on that arm,  and i don't wear braces or anything?

Need more info: It sounds like you may have a "pinched nerve". The trick is to find out where the nerve is being affected. At your age this is probably not a major problem. Make an appointment with your family physician for an examination.

ive dealt w/ lock jaw and my jaw trying to pop out of place when i talk or eat and i clench my teeth in sleep along with impacted tooth how is braces cosmetic would it not fix that i clench from over bite (dont mean to) i deal w/ jaw issues alltime?

: Jaw joint issues require professional care. Start w your family Dentist. Referral to specialist Oral Surgeon, specialist Oral Pathologist, or Oro-facial Pain specialist. You mention an overbite. Important that you also see a specialist Orthodontist. A nice cosmetic result is a side effect of Orthodontically correcting form and function.

Why?: see if you really need one?--go to a new MD/DO and see if still necessary....
if so then ask what they'd recommend or refer you to...

most people save for traumatic situations don't need neck braces....
