No: An endometrial ablation "mechanically removes" the lining of the uterus (endometrium), but the ovaries which produce the hormones are untouched by this procedure.     Your weight is not related to your ablation.

Somewhat: Sprintec contains estrogen and progesterone.  Those hormones suppress the ovaries and replace the hormones that would normally be produced by the ovaries. So the hormones are technically changed but are actually still comparable to what would have been produced.

Relation to dementia: Actually, the nih studies suggested a memory risk when older women supplemented female hormones especially estrogens, and in addition, there may be both heart attack and stroke issues too.  The johns hopkins work seemed to confirm this.  However, all is not bleak, as there are many female hormones, especially estradiol, which may be important.  Confer with your gynecologist.
