Developmental stage: The developmental stage of a kid is the primary guide.Any kid over 2 has a basic understanding of things like death  but between 2 & 7-8 they  process  info very simply. Short informative statements are better than "discussions".Expect them to come back repeatedly with ? & answer in few words.For ~8-14 basic discussions are generally worthwhile , >14 may handle things like most adults.

I agree with you: If you are alert and mentally competent, you should be the first person a doctor should talk to; however, if you become mentally incompetent to make a decision and have signed document to designate some else to make decision for you  when  you are unable to do so, then the designated person should be the one to act on you behalf.

children have vivid imagination they need to know their world is safe so be supportive and work through their fears.

Highly variable: Some children are only minimally delayed, others never learn to talk.  Autism is a highly variable disease.

Thoughtfully: Parents have to be careful to avoid assuming that a child with adhd who disobeys is always disobeying willfully (even if the child has odd).  Many incorrectly believe that adhd children just need more discipline.  These children have difficulty self-monitoring and need help via reminders and repetition.  The best discipline involves explanation and rational discussion.  Lots of patience is needed.

: Being interested in math and dinosaurs is not abnormal for a 15 year old, maybe unusual, but by no means abnormal. Best to comment on his growth pattern would be his pediatrician otherwise during his annual exam.

my parents dont talk about these things as they belong to a conservative family. does dorsal slit have any disadvantages over circumcised penis?

Basics: I believe the dorsal slit was the first &amp; quickest method of circumcision practiced before equipment advances allowed a simple 360 degree foreskin removal. The procedure allowed better access for cleaning &amp; prevented a problem called paraphimosis where the glans could become trapped &amp; loose blood supply. It evolved to a more cosmetic procedure. Peoples preference varies.

Play therapy: Children don't want to sit and "talk it out" like an adult. They want to be able to understand why things happened to them and make sense of their lives. Play therapy allows them to gain trust with an adult, and introduce ways a therapist can discuss forms of abuse, why they happened, why it isn't the child's fault, and how the child can proceed and trust again.

Please see below.: There are lots of disabilities other than autism spectrum disorders.  The reason why it seems that autism diagnoses are more common is that we have learned that autism is not just the severe form (like rain man), but includes a whole spectrum, ranging from severe down to very mild (like asperger's syndrome).
