i had distorted hearing in one of my ears, ear ache, occasionally itchy, and drainage into my nose. is it possible it's an ear infection?

Cannot diagnose: Without seeing you and examining you it is impossible to say what is going on. It is certainly possible that you have an ear infection, but in addition to an exam would need a full history before being able to make a diagnosis.  Go and be seen.

B-blocker not reason: Constellation of symptoms consistent with migraine headaches. If b-blockers were started then, stopped these symptoms wouldn't be expected to have persisted. There are also metabolic reasons for migraine headaches such as low thyroid or low cortisol function. Labs done? Please don't try multiple rounds of antibiotics for sinus problems or get surgeries to drill holes in them. Not expected to work.

Hearing loss: If hearing get bad, obviously you need to see your doctor or an ENT surgeon to identify the problem and treat accordingly.

Exam and tests: If this is a reoccurring issue i would see an ENT dr.  Still, it doesn't necessarily mean any deamage...But won't know unless you get to the dr.

what can cause hearing distortions? i was sitting overhearing a conversation and all of a sudden the conversation sounded like it was in a tunnel, echoey and distorted voices.  i couldn't understand the words. it lasted about 30 seconds

Distorted voices: May beear  infection/fluid, versus early  shingles. rarely could be potine angle tumor or MS . You are rather young for carotid, vascular issue or CVA F/u with ENT

Get hearing test: You need an audiogram by your local ent.  It might be a eustachian tube problem (which may be helped by allergy meds) but you can't know till you check your hearing out.

Possibly: I have seen both outcomes from noise trauma. That is temporary or permanent damage. Sometimes such loud music from a concert causes ringing in the ears. You may want an evaluation by an Otolaryngologist for further advice and prognosis.

can hearing aids cause frequency loss if not properly adjusted? i have distored/buzz sound when i raise my voice/laugh and my dr can't seem to fix it

Hearing aid distorti: Unless your hearing aids are buzzing at a very loud (painful) level, they should not cause any frequency loss.  It sounds like this is more of an annoying problem.  Perhaps you need a different type of hearing aids.  The newer digital devices solve a lot of feedback and distortion problems.

Why beta blocker?: Beta blocker itself very unlikely to cause this.  Why did you take it (that is the underlying illness)? You may be having more symptoms from your underlying illness.  If all tests negative then consider stress, but only after tests done.  Classify "distorted" vision better.  If solid evidence of structural illness then consider spinal tap - but only if you sure it isn't stress (may hate test).

Get assessment : A variety of ways.  A good place to start is an ear exam by your primary care practitioner as sometimes will identify ear problems that affect hearing.  If remains unclear/in doubt then they can refer you for an audiogram
