It depends: Thyroid nodules are common but most of them are benign.
If you have shown it to your doctor, ask his/her advice for future monitoring. A sonogram(Ultrasound test) is one good way of following it and see if it grows in size. If it is clearly present and growing over 6 to 12 months, a needle biopsy should be considered. Your doctor can refer you to a Thyroid specialist(Endocrinologist) if you asked.

Depends: If it is solid in ultrasound a biopsy can be done.  This can be done with a needle.  If it is growing, might as well remove it.  If it is symptomatic remove it.

Thyroid nodule: I am not sure that the ultrasound can actually detect accurately such a small change.  Were there lymph nodes?  Are there other nodules?  Is there concomitant Hashimotos?  What is your TSH?  Many questions.  You should see someone (perhaps an endocrinologist) who can biopsy the nodule, if it looks like something worth a biopsy.

Depends on problem: 3 major categories of potential health issues caused by thyroid nodules: a) large size affecting swallowing, breathing, voice ; b) over active production of thyroid hormone (hyperthyroid) ; and c) ~5% of nodules are cancer. Methimazole and ptu (propylthiouracil) are pills that block thyroid hormone production, treating b) above. Radioactive  i-131 can shrink/destroy nodule, treating a) and b). Need surgery for c).

Additional therapy, if any, will depend on the results of that biopsy and any other symptoms or signs associated with that nodule. I still recommend that a thyroidologist,endocrinologist or head &amp; neck surgeon follow patients with thyroid.nodules and I leave it up to them to determine how often studies are indicated on specific patients.

Get evaluated: You will probably have an ultrasound done and if a nodule is confirmed a needle biopsy is frequently done to determine further action.

It depends: Circumscribed, on an ultrasound report, describes how distinct the border is between the nodule and the normal thyroid tissue.  It would usually be preceded by "well" for nodules with sharp outlines, or "poorly" for nodules with blurred outlines.
