Have it evaluated: Pigmented skin lesion should be evaluated by your physician. If they have changed in size or color, you may need to have them biopsied.

Accepted Answer

No : If you have discoloration, your venous insufficiency is serious and you are at risk of developing a leg ulcer, even if your legs feel fine. Elevate your legs. Wear compression stockings daily. See a phlebologist or vein specialist. Phlebology.Org for a referral. Treatment is office based and under and hour. Covered by almost all insurance.

Chronic inflammation: Chronic inflammation of ocular surface can cause brown discoloration.  Other possible causes: simply accumulation of pigment cells in people of color; pingueculum; carcinoma of ocular surface.  If this is a new observation, see your eye md asap.

Yes: There are prescription fading creams which include ingredients such as hydroquinone or Azelaic Acid that can be used for short periods to fade dark marks. Some people cannot use them due to irritation or allergy from the products. See a dermatologist for evaluation and treatment.

what are the brown discolourations in the apple skin? is it bad to eat it?!

Safe for most: According to a study in 2015, small brown spots on apples are caused by excessive rain late in the growing season.  The larger brown spots can be caused by bruising (if its soft underneath), or insects, fungus, lack of calcium in the soil, or poor storage.  Scrubbing the skin or peeling the skin before you eat it is a simple solution, but if you do happen to eat it there's no harm.

Accepted Answer

: Deep purple discoloration is a characteristic of ecchymoses which is intradermal bleeding or bruising.  If these occur without trauma, then blood clotting abnormalities are suspected. Another cause is the skin being stretched too much. Pink discoloration, on the other hand, is a sign of irritation/ inflammation from various causes. A physician would have to examine you in order to advise you.

See a dermatologist: Several things come to mind. Assuming you are an adult, this could be a sun reaction,  a skin reaction to radiation or medication side effect, 
Hyperpigmentation, vitiligo (due to a loss of melanocytes, the cells,that give color to,the skin.
See a professional who,is familiar with this, like a dermatologist for correct diagnosis and treatment plan.
