are at home dipsticks that test urine accurate?  i bought 2 brands and both show negative for everything.  a week ago, there was microscopic blood (maybe due to period) in urine at dr.. the dipsticks showed no blood today a week later. accurate?

Urine dipstick is really sensitive but it does not discern the source, i.e., red blood cells form urinary tract vs contaminant.
Intermittent microscopic hematuria is usually of benign nature  whereas persistent one (over 6 months) should be investigated.

Urine dipstick: The urine dipstick has squares which 'turn color' when certain chemicals in the urine are present in various amounts (graded 0-->4+). It can show:  state of hydration (spec. Grav.), kidney disease (protein), diabetes (sugar/ketones) , stone/tumor (blood), liver disease (bilirubin), infection (white cells/nitrite). 
A complete urinalysis includes dipstick and microscopic exam.

Repeat: I'm going to assume this is not just contamination from your monthly cycle. This will probably be repeated and maybe worked up if positive. Several percent of folks have hematuria for no reason that anyone can determine -- often it's from a particular gene, and it doesn't result in problems.

Entirely normal: Same question you asked 2 days ago, same reply:  Cloudy urine is not abnormal if it occurs without other symptoms like painful urination, urgency, or discharge. It&#x27;s due to intake of fluids, various foods, etc. Cloudiness usually is from microscopic phosphate crystals; you can check this possibility by adding a few drops of vinegar to a urine sample, which probably will turn it crystal clear.

Blood...: It means that a significant amount of blood was present in the urine. If you were going through, had recently finished or about to start your period this could be the reason. However, there are other reason like infection, kidney stones, irritation. You would need to follow up with your doctor on the results if having your period was not the reason.

If a 6 turned into 9: Yes, you are dying of kidney problems, or something else but it's gonna take another 60 years to finish you off, as long as you drive safely and floss every day. First, when it comes to a complicated test like that, better leave it to a professional. Second, the pH depends on a lot of metabolic factors, but usually is slightly acidic ,like yours, but that's just a generalization. Trust your doctor
