left & right upper chest knot feeling and pinching comes and goes for about 4 days now? rubber band sound feeling in right ear ? lighthead sometimes. head feels full. check bp and oxygen both good. got blood and tests 2 months ago ct panel cbc normal

Nondiagnostic: These varied symptoms are not explainable with one diagnosis. Sharp,fleeting chest pains often emanate from the nerves or muscles of the rib cage and have no relationship to heart or lungs. The eustachian tube which runs from high in the back of the nose to the middle ear may be clogged with mucus and this can account for the sound and lightheadedness. Discuss these possibilities with your MD.

Possible: The heart needs oxygen as fuel to do its job. If oxygen is very low, the heart may not pump as well.

Not necessarily: Your lungs come with a lot of built-in reserve. That is, functionally they can do far more than you need to, unless you're running a triathlon for example. That said most lung diseases will not affect your oxygen levels until very far advanced.

Yes: If you have any symptoms like fatigue, cough, chest pain, shortness of breath, by all means get it checked out. The differential diagnosis includes restrictive lung disease, congestive heart failure. Pneumonia and malfunctioning stethescope (if no symptoms and all lung fields are involved).

Faulty reading: The most important step to assessing low oxygen is to make sure the pulse oximeter is reading correctly.  Pulse oximeters can be effected by nail polish, skin temperature and other things.  A common cause of low oxygen is shunting.  Sitting for long periods, obesity and shallow breathing due to pain can decrease the amount of lung used for oxygen exchange.

Confusing: Removing half of one of your lungs should not have severe effects on your blood oxygen level is there are not other problems.  See your doctor and ask for a more complete explanation of your functional status and whether or not there are other diseases affecting your blood oxygen level.

why would my right side of lung upon auscultation sound diminished.  my dr. said i have asthma.  could this be?

Lung sounds can be: diminished for several reasons. Sometimes there is fluid or a pneumonia; sometimes there is a partial collapse of the lungs (which could happen in asthma). I would ask your doctor for more of an explanation and you may need a chest X-ray.
