Many causes: There are multiple causes that may explain your symptoms. If you have a history of allergies or asthma, please follow your asthma/allergy plan. Avoid smoke, dust, mold, pollen and animal dander. If you have not been diagnosed, please have an evaluation for infection, muscular strain and an allergic reaction. Cardiac causes are less likely but may be considered by your PCP.

i've been sick with a cold and after day 5 i have a deep cough, i'm extremely lightheaded and i have difficulty breathing along with chest pains. ?

Chest cold: Your upper respiratory infection has spread to your breathing passages and now you have acute bronchitis. There may be a component of asthma as well, even if you've never had asthma before. If you're uncomfortably short of breath, you should go immediately to an ER for prompt treatment. If it's just a nuisance symptom, you ought to at least see your doctor tomorrow to be examined.

Need to examine: It is not feasible to provide a meaningful opinion without taking additional history, physical examination and may be some tests. It would be prudent to see your doctor and discuss if you may be depressed. Counter-intuitive as it may seem, exercise may help. Start with low intensity exercise such as walking and gradually increase the intensity as tolerated. Drink more water. Wish you good health!

Asthma?: The most common cause of chest pain and difficulty breathing in a child is asthma.  It is especially likely that is is asthma if there are triggers like exercise, cold, and allergens.  It is also possible that there is a musculoskeletal issue. If the ribs are not moving freely with the diaphragm it can also cause these symptoms.  Both can be treated easily by inhalers or manipulation respectively.

I don't know either: But I am reassured by the length of your symptoms that it is unlikely to be anything life threatening.  You should have had pulmonary function testing with lung volumes, cxr and possibly exercise stress testing with oxygen saturation. If that is all normal it might be worthwhile to obtain ct.

Hyperthyroid: Excess thyroid hormones have a stimulant effect on the heart. Women with an underlying cardiac disease will have chest pain when these hormones aggravate it.
See a cardiologist or go to the ER. Chest pain can be dangerous or it can be as benign as heartburn. No way to know until you get checked out.

Chest pain: Chest pain, as in angina... Can be chest, arm, neck, wrist... That is the heart can hurt and we feel it somewhere else. We call that an "anginal equivalent". Chest pain, healthy... Is your diaphragm (the big muscle under your lungs that drives your breathing) is  "hurting" needing to clear the metabolites of muscle work.

Ans: You are so young. More history is needed like trauma to the chest?  Any family history of heart disease?  Do you exercise?  Once a good history is obtained. Then examination such as reducible pain.?  Most likely you are musculoskeletal pain. But again a thorough history and exam is required
