Few symptoms.: Pituitary tumors are slow-growing and tend not to cause any acute symptoms, allowing them to grow to a relatively large size prior to their discovery.  Furthermore, most do not cause hormonal problems, and the usual symptoms they cause (vision change, sometimes headache) are nonspecific and may be caused by a number of other conditions.

There are many tumors that are very treatable and even curable. There are others where there is very long term remission. The key to to be informed and ask questions. Know your options. Don't forget about clinical trials.

Not hard to Dx.: Pancreatic Ca is  commonly found in the head of the pancreas.  Since the tumor arises in the panc. duct, just behind it is the bile duct entering the duodenum. The bile duct gets blocked from tumor  and one has painless jaundice, where pain is from pancreatitis with a  mass. this does not produce jaundice.  An ERCP with transduodenal bx can give needed diagnosis.

Leiomyomas: Uterine fibroids are growths of the smooth muscle wall of the uterus that can at times reach enormous sized producing symptoms secondary to bleeding or bulk size.  At times they undergo malignant degeneration and result in a lesion, the leiomyosarcoma.  One can embolize the blood supply to the bulky lesion or perform hysterectomy

Discuss with doc: There are tumors in this region that grow briefly and stop, causing no interference with life other than the stress involve with knowing it might. It can be a very difficult area to get to without causing injury to sensitive structures that make and release hormones. Cautious monitoring of the tumor (MRI) and hormones (blood tests) with the neurosurgeon working with the endo doc is the safest appr.

i have pressure in my left rib cage and pain in my back, i was diagnosised with anxiety and im convinced i have everything that can be wrong is this pressure from my anxiety or do i have a tumor? and my left ribs stick out.

A special case...: It's a special case when a patient is diagnosed with anxiety and convinced that he has everything that can be wrong. In such a case, the patient should get information from a single, trusted primary care doctor. If the patient gets additional ideas of other possible but unlikely diseases, then the patient will have many many more things to be anxious about (more info can lead to worse anxiety).

Pituitary adenoma: There is no known link between pituitary adenomas and giant cell bone tumors. Both are generally benign tumors. Close follow up with a neurosurgeon who specializes in pituitary surgery and an orthopedic surgeon who specializes in bone tumors is essential for both tumor types. Sorry for your difficulties. my 4 yr old son's rt. upper tibia mri gives a probable diagnosis of osteo-fibrous dysplasia and not a tumor. what is osteo-fibrous dysplasia?

Very rare: Ossifying fibroma, also known as osteofibrous dysplasia, is a benign fibrous tumor with local aggressive behavior. Ossifying fibroma does not metastasize.
It's very  rare. I'd make sure that the people making that diagnosis really know what they are talking about and would consider a 2nd opinion if you're not already seeing a bone tumor expert.

4th vent. tumor 2cm in size. my cerebellar tonsils descended 4mm. would tumor account for descended tonsils? is chiari diagnosis immaterial due to tumor dx?

Cerebellar tumor: The cerebellar tumor is the cause of the Chiari malformation (acquired type I) where the cerebellar tonsils are displaced below the foramen Magnum. The tumor can cause of the cerebrospinal fluid pathways to obstruct and lead to hydrocephalus. See a neurosurgeon to discuss the treatment options.
