Deficits in information processing, memory &amp; retrieval in an infant or child who lacks age-appropriate intuitive understanding of numerical concepts cause developmental dyscalculia. Acalculia is acquired &amp; of late onset. It is caused by anything that damages areas of the brain involved in mathematical operations. Acalculia = unable to count.
