Dyscalculia = " to : count badly", from its Greek & Latin root words. Deficits in information processing, memory & retrieval in an infant or child who lacks age-appropriate intuitive understanding of numerical concepts cause developmental dyscalculia. Acalculia is acquired & of late onset. It is caused by anything that damages areas of the brain involved in mathematical operations. Acalculia = unable to count.
