usually ok: Usually a drug test is looking for drugs of abuse. Amoxicillin, an antibiotic is not usually considered a drug of abuse and is not something that is being looked for on such a test.

No: Drug tests are done for specific drugs, mainly controlled substances or illegal drugs. There would be no reason to test for amoxicillin.

i am pregnant and due anytime now.i have been talking amoxicillin and ampicillin.will these show positive for cocaine when they do a drug test on baby?

No: No. Amoxicillin and Ampicillin are 'penicillin' type antibiotics and does not contain cocaine. Therefore, if you have not used cocaine then there should be no cocaine in your baby's system to produce a positive 'cocaine' test.

taking prednisone, albuterol inhaler, benzonatate, amoxicillin and a breathing treatment. x-ray shows lungs are clear. did covid tests=negative. diagnosed with acute bronchitis adult.+never smoked. coughing too much when trying to sleep. ideas???

: To treat asthma exacerbation/flare up, which is inflammation of the lungs, I prescribe 5 days of steroids and inform to take albuterol around the clock every 4-6 hours with a short follow-up. Acute bronchitis is a viral infection that can have cough linger for weeks. Albuterol will not improve bronchitis. Amoxicillin is for a bacterial pneumonia. Multiple treatment options were already prescribed

No: Drug testing is very specific testing about what  chemicals are being evaluate. There is no cross over with Amoxicillin and usual drugs that are tested.

GBI tox screen: Gbi tests for drugs in biological fluids and tissues, for carbon monoxide in blood, for poisons in biological fluids, tissues and source materials, for volatiles (gases and vapors) in biological materials, and for alcohol content in biological fluids.  Whether or not they test specifically for Amoxicillin could be determined with a quick phone call, but suspect this must be specifically requested.

No: Penicillin drugs rarely cause low platelet counts.

No: Most illnesses in kids are viral. You should never start antibiotics unless a doctor diagnosis your child as having a bacterial infection (as was the case with strep throat). Over use of antibiotics is harmful to your child (resistance, side effects, disrupts healthy gut bacteria, etc), and will do nothing at all to cure a viral infection. It would be best to see your child's doctor at this point.

if amoxicillin does not resolve dizziness issue and all other tests are normal what could be causing dizziness and occasional spinning sensation.

What other tests? : There are many causes of vertigo. You need to return to your doctor for re-evaluation especially since your symptoms remain

Sounds fine: People who are taking amoxicillin twice a day can take one capsule in the morning, and one in the evening or at bedtime, without being exactly 12 hours apart... but the goal is to be 10-14 hours apart.  A person with strep throat usually takes her amoxicillin for 10 days.
