Not likely: Genital herpes isn't always symptomatic. Often times you'll never know that you have an infection. When you do, all you'll notice are blisters on a red base. Burning upon urination suggests either a bladder or kidney infection (different manifestations of urinary tract infections), or possibly a different sexually transmitted infection. Go see your family physician for proper diagnosis & treatment.

Many possibilities: This sensation could be related to acute or chronic infection, urethral stricture, bladder stone, history of pelvic surgery or instrumentation, trauma, or other issue.  After history, physical exam and urinalysis post void urine volumes and cystoscopy should be able to identify oct worrisome etiologies for this symptom.

Pain on urinating: Your pain on urinating should as if you have a urinary tract infection. You should see a physician to have a urine sent off for a culture to see what bacterium is causing it and to be placed on antibiotics to treat it and get rid of your burning sensation. Good luck.
