2 kinds: One is for hemodialysis, a simpler form of the machine available in dialysis units where the patient &/or family member is trained to connect via IV line or graft to clean blood.

Another is for peritoneal dialysis which connects via abdominal tube to instill liquid in abdomen and take it back, along with waste, in a periodic fashion during sleep. Training and monitoring are easier for this one.

In-center dialysis: Your home training facility should have an in-center hemodialysis facility nearby that is available in he event you are unable to perform your home dialysis treatments.

Depends on patient: In capable patients the peritoneal does not only provide for a better quality of life but also is safer. But in patients who are not likely to follow the rules well due to older age, dementia, poor manual dexterity etc, in-center dialysis is safer.

93% survive 2 years: Based on data from United States Renal Data System (http://www.usrds.org) for 2010-2012 there is a 6.7% 2 year mortality after starting home peritoneal dialysis ( 9.9%  2 year mortality for home hemodilaysis).  This compares to   2 year mortality of 12.3 % for in center hemodialysis.  
It should be emphasized that mortality after kidney transplant at 2 years is only 1.8%.  Diabetes increases risk.

Hello. : Hello. You stated that the hospital does not provide the type of treatment that your loved one needs, so they may not have a choice. If they occupy a bed for someone who they can't realistically treat, if could prevent another patient from getting care. Unrelated: This is most likely not related to the dialysis! However It is concerning if it represents a bacterial eye infection since the bacteria could infect your shunt. Careful handwashing is advised....Tell your renal Doctor about the eye....

recently blood sugar levels  have been dropping very low on dialysis and at home - under 4 
i am also cardiac patient ... is there anything that i can take to increase my blood sugar levels

Workup needed : Hypoglycemia or low blood sugar is always of concern for conditions such as infections, metabolic or malignant and aside from adjusting your diabetes meds or insulin if you suffer from diabetes and having small, frequent meals, avoiding concentrated sugar there is not much to do. Make sure your GP and/or kidney doctors are aware of your low sugars.

Weight : Weight loss and new onset of constipation are possibly the result of dietary changes, however excluding problems in your colon is important. If you have undergone a recent colonoscopy then occasional laxative use is ok.

I am not a dialysis expert therefore cannot answer that question to your satisfaction.
