Go to MD: Dm usually causes gastroparesis and slow intestinal movement, not diarrhea unless it is an overflow diarrhea from chronic constipation and malabsorption. It just does not sound right.  If he has bee on antibiotics before, worry about superinfection, or even not. It is best to have a proper diagnosis.

Yes: Good news is leaky gut can be controlled primarily through diet. You can't get diabetes without a leaky gut!

Truncal obesity: People with truncal obesity are prone for dm2.

Possibly: Certain medications can cause abdominal side effects.  Metformin is well-known for this, as just an example.  If you're experiencing side effects from one of your medications, please discuss with your doctor.

It is essentially: a foreign body. Her body could be trying to wall it off or she could have an infection.  It sounds like her drug use is out of control. Please encourage her to have this lump evaluated and to get into a good detox program. Take care.

PREGNANCY: Looks like you gained a lot of weight. Ask OB   if there is a problem with normal delivery. Pelvic ultrasound helps.

Usually additional labs and xrays will also be needed to make a DX

85 year old female, diabetic, diagnosed with gall stones. has severe pain on opposite side of abdomen.  er dr. prescribed valium with no positive resu?

Not appropriate: Valium serves no role in the management of gallstones, or gallstone related problems.  In an elderly patient, diabetic with gallstones and severe pain, she should be admitted for further testing.  Her symptoms could be from gallstones, but also other causes, such as pancreatitis, ulcer disease, kidney stones, colitis or other reasons.  Please ask for her internist to see her if she is still in er.

i have a lump on the right side of my middle abdomen. several drs have felt it and said it is just fatty deposit. it hurts at times as of i pulled or strained the muscle in my side. im diabetic and am concerned it could be more serious. ?

All are right: Docs are right as what they feel as the lump is benign, likely a lipoma, and you are right that probably something else is causing the pain, abdominal muscles not necessarily the lump. What will give you reason to be concerned would be the pain getting worse or any other unexplainable symptoms. Otherwise what would be your reasons for concern?

Not at all: Pain with urination really has to be checked out by a doctor. Please contact your physician. An exam and tests need to be run.
