Weight and CRP: Both your weight and CRP are high and being overweight may be causing high CRP. CRP is an indication of on-going inflammation and is not a good thing. You should discuss the result with the doctor who ordered the tests. It would be good to lose weight (easier said than done).
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex.

: It doesn't take much to increase hsCRP.   If your sister had a cough, a cold, an infection, the hsCRP could increase.   Do not be distracted by this number instead of addressing diet and exercise and management of weight.

: hs CRP is  one of the markers of inflammation in blood vessels. Diabetes is a much more serious issue than CRP. It is good that you are keeping your diabetes and blood pressure under control. Talk to your doctor to check you your lipid levels. In case you need statins, those may also help with hsCRP.

i am having a mysterious neuropathy in my hands and feet with swollen tendons in my feet.  ive been tested for diabetes, liver function, kidney function, lupus and ra. all are negative or in the right range but my crp was 12. what should i do next?

Ask your Dr: If all these tests are normal but your symptoms persist you may need to see a neurologist to consider electromyography testing &amp; a few other things.  In many cases of neuropathy a definite cause is not found unfortunately, but medication can help symptoms

A CRP of 18 without the clinical context, is like a fish out of water. You really need to give additional information to get any useful answer from us...Was an infection suspected? How were you feeling? Did you have chest pain?  The CRP mentioned can be bad if it's in the context of a heart attack, or not really bad if an infection was suspected.
