Treat the number?: Advice: doctors treat patients and not numbers. A CRP of 18 without the clinical context, is like a fish out of water. You really need to give additional information to get any useful answer from us...Was an infection suspected? How were you feeling? Did you have chest pain? The CRP mentioned can be bad if it's in the context of a heart attack, or not really bad if an infection was suspected.
