dr did a scope i have bad ulcer & gastritis will and can my ulcer heal i'm on dexilant (dexlansoprazole) and raditidine and on a bland diet , i'm so scared plz help?

Should heal quickly.: On the proper antiacid medication, your gastritis and ulcer should heal within the next 2 weeks.  Your doctor might wish to confirm healing with a repeat upper endoscopy.  If healing is not complete, it would prompt your doctor to check your blood for unusual causes of ulcers; gastroenterologists are trained to pursue this.

i am on dexilant 60mg and i am trying to go by the acid watchers diet. i had been diagnosed with lpr and would like to know how to wean off dexilant to be fully on the diet than be on ppi?

: Your question is not intelligible. What is lpr? What symptoms do you have? If you are overweight, losing weight is imperative. If you have gastric acid reflux it would be prudent to see a doctor for an evaluation.

gave up diet soda and have ibs and gerd.  am
on 60 mg dexilant (dexlansoprazole) . can i get heartburn from drinking iced tea? and i take my pill at night .

GERD : Good for you for giving up diet sodas! It is possible to have worse reflux from iced tea, but it is usually from the caffeine in the tea. If you're drinking caffeine free tea, it usually does not make GERD worse.  As for the DexIlant, (dexlansoprazole)  is best to take it 20 to 30 minutes before a meal. I would not recommend taking it at bedtime. Good luck.

stomach bug 6 weeks ago. stomach burning. egd neg gastritis & h pyroli. was on 40 mg protonix. now on 60 mg dexilant. bland diet. cause of burning?

Stomach burning: Do you experience heartburn or actual gerd?  Dexilant is also a ppi like protonix. Occasionally reflux is due to reflux of bile and not acidic material, and in these cases, ppi's are usually ineffective. In addition to a bland diet, avoid fatty,fried or oily foods, alcohol, caffeine and nicotine to see if your symptoms resolve.

i feel solid food going down my esophagus & feels slow moving after swallowing. trying soft food diet & can feel mashed potatoes going down. drinking helps. dx gerd in '03. tried and failed many ppis. currently dexilant 60mg qd at pm. stricture?

: Not likely stricture at your age.    I would elevate head of bed 8 inches by getting blocks from Bed Bath and Beyond. Gravity never sleeps and this may help with reflux at night. Put under legs of head of bed.

24 hr esoph. ph monitoring came normal.still having acidity symptoms. dexilant+prilosec helps.how's it possible?can anything else simulate acidity?

Reflux vs dyspepsia: You may not have reflux (24hr test) but could still have dyspepsia or gastritis that responds to acid blocking? Have you had H. Pylori testing?

if i normally use a supplement to sleep at night and im just starting 150mg wellbutrin xl am i able to still use my sleep supplement? it has 200mg of l-theanine, 30 grams of 5-htp and 3mg of melatonin. i am also using a ppi once daily. dexilant 60mg?

: It is never good to mix meds for many reasons . To avoid any problems take them separately. You can still take it- tho I do not recommend any supplements. Also always ask a prescriber how to take the prescribed meds and what other ones you take- including supplements

i have a stomach ulcer,i'm negative to hpylori i'm on dexilant& ranitidine when i sit for long my tummy feels like a ripping sensation is that normal?

More information: How long ago were you diagnosed with the ulcer and how long have you been on those two medications? Sometimes it can take 4-8 weeks before feeling better while taking those drugs consistently. If it's been longer than that, you may want to see you GI doc again for reevaluation and to consider if another EGD is necessary to see if the ulcer has healed at all and if not, change your therapy.

Not easily.: You should take it as prescribed and don't take extra but if you did take extra by accident, you probably would be OK for that instant. Good luck.
