This may help with night time breathing problems such as snoring or sleep apnea as well, but not always. In severe cases of septal deviation straightening the position of the septum can help with treating recurrent sinus infections or chronic nasal inflammation by allowing better access for medicated nose sprays.

It is important for your surgeon to fully assess your nasal airway to look for any other possible causes of nasal blockage. In some cases turbinate enlargement, polyps or poor structural support may contribute to your symptoms as well. If desired, these can all be addressed during surgery as well.
