How bad is it, how is affecting your lifestyle?
if bothering you too much, may need to take it seriously and do surgery 
But it also has risks - check with your doctor

Not serious: Septoplasty or surgery to correct a deviated septum is fairly routine and not serious.  Very few risks and a great deal of benefit.  There are only 2 reasons that i can think of to have this surgery. 1.) if the septal cartilage is causing you to have difficulty breathing and you are unhappy about it, and 2.) if you are having intra-nasal sinus surgery and the septum is blocking exposure of sinuses.

Possibly: followup w/your surgeon As a general rule for my patients I say that 80% of swelling is gone after 2 weeks &amp; 90% is gone after 2 months, but really more like 6 weeks.  That being said-a bump on the bridge of the nose should not be from septal surgery.  The septum is in the middle of your nose &amp; surgery to the nasal dorsum/nasal bridge is more from rhinoplasty or septorhinoplasty.  f/u w ur surgeon

You : You can certainly have a septoplasty and rhinoplasty at the same time to address both of your issues. This is very commonly done, in fact. There aren't really any drawbacks to combining the procedures and most patients prefer having one recovery period.

In addition to straightening your septum, you may want to see if sinus surgery would also help with your recurrent sinus infections.

Silent : Silent myocardial infarctions are common.  You need a cardiologist evaluation prior to any surgery!

Nose Reshaping: In cases where the septal deviation is contributing to a deviation of the visible part of the nose, straightening the septum may correct some of this deformity. Most of the time, correction of external nasal appearance will require a cosmetic rhinoplasty or nose reshaping procedure in addition to the septoplasty which primarily helps your breathing.

Yes: Depending on whether that was a problem with oxygenating your blood and depending on whether the surgery was done properly and you have two very clear open nasal airways and you breathe through your nose easily now.  It is important to breathe through your nose as your immune system filters many "invaders"  via immunoglobiulins canlled iga's. Keeps you healthy!

Not really: No it can not be re-deviated by hitting or grabbing the nose.

See below: Surgery could fix both problems.
For good health - Have a diet rich in fresh vegetables, fruits, whole grains, milk and milk products, nuts, beans, legumes, lentils and small amounts of lean meats. Avoid saturated fats. Drink enough water daily, so that your urine is mostly colorless. Exercise at least 150 minutes/week and increase the intensity of exercise gradually. Do not use tobacco, alcohol, weed or street drugs in any form. 
Practice safe sex, if you have sex. 
Get HPV vaccine, if you are under 27 years of age.

can a deviated septum surgery straighten my nose?

Crooked nose: A deviated septum can contribute to the appearance of a crooked nose but correcting the septal deviation may not be enough to straighten your nose. Have your nose evaluated by a board certified facial plastic surgeon.
