Sometimes the cleats: And cleat pattern can cause some bruising.  Soccer cleats are notorious for a lack of support and shock absorption, so the pain can easily be plantar fasciitis.  For preteen children, the pain canbe sever's diease/calcaneal apophysitis, an injury to the growth plate.

Go to ER: Please get examined and x-rayed immediately by Sports Medicine or ER doc especially if this is your dominant hand. If you don't have a fracture, you could still have ligamentous/tendon injury. That part of your body is structurally complicated and may need specialty care (Ortho-hand/Plastics plus Occupational Therapy). Don't sit on this.

Foot pain: This can be something called metatarsalgia.  In reality it has a biomechanical cause .  There may be contracted digits or bunion formation or a limb length discrepancy , or loss of fat pad,  to name a few causes.   See your podiatrist for assistance.

Foot pain in athlete: It may be wise to get to a podiatrist so that your future athletic prowess can continue.  Pain with tight shoes/cleats may be a sign the foot is mildly swollen.

: Foot injuries typically involve bones, but also, nerves such as posterior tibial and peroneal can get injured.  Foot drop and Tarsal Tunnel Syndrome are examples.  Yes, dorsalis pedis can get injured also.  If you are concerned about foot integrity and protection, see a podiatrist and discuss how to maintain proper foot health.
