12 Step program: Please continue to see your doctors for your anxiety, depression and ADD.  Beyond that, consider getting into a 12 step program which can help you avoid the unhelpful move toward drugs, men, sex, alcohol, etc.  Some groups are called AA, some NA, but they all work on the same model. A person who has a first degree relative with mental illness is at greater risk of having mental illness. Unlike certain physical illness where a single gene is involved, the genetics of mental illness is much more complicated. Genetics then could increase a child's risk.

Options: Treatments that can help with all three illnesse include therapy, exercise, eating a healthy diet (limiting caffeine and sugar), support groups and journaling (can help release emotions and identify possible triggers). Not necessarily: There is a good possibility that a person with add/ adhd will never suffer from depression or social anxiety. However, in some - this could be a contributing factor.

Add?: Some have benefited from using flaxseed oil at high dose, although results are mixed, if used alone.

Yes, possibly: You may want to check your vitamin d level -- if less than 50, it can predispose to depression.  Also l-methylfolate helps many people increase responsiveness to antidepressants.  Third, fish oil at least 2-3 grams/day [1-2 grams epa, 500-900 mg dha/day].  Psychotherapy is an essential part of treating depression and anxiety.  Ask your psychiatrist for referral if s/he does not provide this.

Off label use: That depends on your  psychiatrist's level of comfort doing this. When I have used stimulants to treat depression I have tended to do it for hospice patients. It can be used for depression  off label but is far from first line. I would discuss this with your psychiatrist.
