It may or may not: Post partum depression is definitley made worse with sleep deprivation, lack of sun exposure, lack of family support, isolation, etc.

Slow, but sure: To keep it simple since your dose is fairly low you can try cutting by half every week. Then you can do every other day, twice a week, until gone. If you notice a set back w/out cause - step back one step for a week. You should be fine. Since you knew and understand the initial cause - you may have been okay w/out it - but now the good news is you'll be okay soon.

Discuss w doc : Discuss this with the prescribing doc. This may not be due to the weaning. Drink lots,of,fluids to ensure that you are not dehydrated.

good day, i put on nuzak and wellbutrin by my gp about 4 years ago due to depression. i hate being on it and would like wean off. any advice please?

Tapering off meds:  Agree with Dr. Ventor. I can't encourage you to independently wean yourself off of fluoxetine and Wellbutrin without involving the doctor who has prescribed you the medication for four years.

i've been prescribed ativan for post partum depression . is like to switch to cymbalta (duloxetine) as i heard the side effects are better it's easier wean off????

Trust your Doctor: Ativan is used for short term treatment of anxiety. Cymbalta (duloxetine) is used as a last resort in most women suffering from postpartum depression. It may be best to seek counseling before jumping to medications. Speak with your doctor

can weaning off adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) cause depression symptoms?

Yes: When Adderall (dextroamphetamine and racemic amphetamine) is used for pure adhd there is usually not much withdrawal.  But stimulants can transiently help mood but then cause a dependence like coccaine which leads to depression.  This is why stimulants don't make good antidepressants by themselves and why they are classified as a potentially abused drug. Discuss with your prescriber and don't take other people's meds.

can i wean myself off prozac (fluoxetine)? i've been bipolar for sometime and diagnosed with depression. docs appt jan 31 can't wait that long. its. bugging me.

Bipolar pts should: Try to never change meds without a discussion with their treating psychiatrist.High risk of destabilization .Any way to hang in there or get a phone consult or a message to the doc?

my son is weaning off luvox and moving to lexapro (escitalopram) for ocd, depression.  he is on 100mg luvox and 10mg lexapro (escitalopram). does he need to go to 50mg and then off?

Lowering medication: It seems you, your son ; his doctor have decided he has not responded well enough to Luvox ; Lexapro (escitalopram) might be a better medication. Both are ssri's used for depression and anxiety. When switching from one to another, slower is better to avoid side effects. Discuss with your doctor if your son should lower Luvox more slowly - such as 75 mg for 1 week, then 50 mg ; then 25 mg before stopping luvox.

i am taking elavil, nuvigil, remeron, and xanax (alprazolam) for anxiety/depression/chronic daily fatigue. the first 3 have me in a fog.  will weaning off help me?

Pharmacology: Of the three medications Elavil (amitriptyline) the most likely to give you a "fog" sensation  and Nuvigil is the least likely. Consult with your physician before making any adjustments on your medications. Hope you feel better soon.
