Trust your Doctor: Ativan is used for short term treatment of anxiety. Cymbalta (duloxetine) is used as a last resort in most women suffering from postpartum depression. It may be best to seek counseling before jumping to medications. Speak with your doctor

No ativan (lorazepam): Ativan is NOT a great drug for post partum depression. Ativan treats anxiety, not depression. Ask your doctor about lexapro. Cymbalta (duloxetine) can also be used as can prozac. Best of luck to you.
