I'm stumped: Orthodontia is for moving natural teeth. If someone has false teeth, there are no natural teeth for the braces to attach to. If the person has partial dentures, it may be possible to place braces, but i'm not sure of the benefit at that point. Please elaborate if i misunderstood your question..

Healing/false teeth: It takes about 4-6 weeks for the bone and gum tissue to close and contract into shape after extractions. Dentures may be placed immediatly after extractions. Then as the gums /bone heals, a re-line(3-4 months later) of the inside of the denture is done to make them fit the newly shaped bone.

Crown/bridge/denture: If the tooth is still savagible, you need a crown.  If the tooth is not savagible or you are talking about a missing teeth.  Implant supported crown, bridge and partial dentures are your options.  First 2 are fixed which means it will stay in your mouth all the time.  Partial denture is removable which means it can be put in and taken out.

It depends: You can have something removable, or a bridge where they cap the teeth on either side or you can have dental implants.  The implants are the preferred option in most cases.
