Bee sting : A bee sting area often appears red and swollen.  Applying ice and Hydrocortisone cream may help improve the area. If the area worsens or fever develops , or difficulty breathing develops , it requires immediate medical attention.

It Can Be: A bee sting anywhere on the body can cause pain and swelling. Especially in oral tissues (like the tongue), the swelling can be quite extensive. You can imagine what happens next...If the swelling is extreme, it can completely close off your airway and make it impossible to breathe. Obviously, that would be a major problem. For people who are allergic, this scenario is even more likely.

Three things-: Otc pain medication such as advil, motrin, aleve (naproxen) or what you normally take for a headache, suck on ice chips, and time. There is nothing else you can do. If your tongue is swollen, taking  benedryl may help as well.

Unrelated: No reason to believe that a bubble like lesion on the tongue is related to the prior bee sting.  The lesion should resolve within 5-10 days.  If not, a physician can examine it. Good luck!

Bee sting: What a horrible spot to get stung. Take a dose of Benadryl (diphenhydramine) and be checked as your tongue is part of your airway. All the best.

Usually short onset: Usually a reaction to insect bites and bee stings are rapid. If there is more than 2 inches of redness/swelling, please see urgent care. Gently remove any stinger, continue both medications ( cream and antihistamine) for 48 hours. Watch for signs of breathing difficulty, drooling and swallowing problems. Currently, your reaction is mild.

Arthus reaction: This sounds like a classical arthus reaction to the sting.It is not the scary dangerous bee sting reaction, but represents a protective response.The body turns local capillaries into soaker hoses that flood the area with serum to dilute the bite toxins.That slows/dilutes the effect on the body.The swelling can take days to fade/itch/be warm.Allergex may help the itch but won't change the timetable

Yes &amp; no: Reaction to any stinging insect can vary from almost nothing to full anaphylaxis.Since it is obvious she didn't have a major event, this falls into the lesser but more vigorous ones.The body often releases chemicals around the area of a bite to wall off any foreign material injected. These cause the capillaries to leak/swelling &amp; some local heat. When this occurs it can take days for it to resolve

Angular Cheilitis: It is abnormal for cold sores to linger for an entire month.  There is a condition called cheilitis where lesions develop in the corners of the mouth and they can be persistent.  They can be from lip-licking, nutrient deficiencies, dry mouth etc.  These can become subject to opportunistic infections.  Using a topical antibiotic and discouraging harmful behaviors (lip licking) may help.

Swelling, : Swelling, numbness and tingling are normal reactions to bee stings. To help remedy the uncomfortable feeling and itchiness, try giving your daughter benadryl, (diphenhydramine) an antihistamine.

Also, it is a good idea to keep the arm and hand elevated to promote good blood flow. As the hand hangs down to the side, blood flow may not always be optimum for healing.

If symptoms persists or if the symptoms worsen and do not get better after taking benadryl, (diphenhydramine) it is prudent to call your doctor or bring her into an urgent care.
