Dark urine, nausea: Go to a doctor and get a blood sample sent off to see if you have hepatitis as well as a urine analysis to see if you have bilirubin in it. If you do have hepatitis, you will get the answer and a treatment plan from the tests i suggested you have done. Good luck.

: Your statement is not logic. You can't get dehydrated if you drink more than what you void and you do not lose fluid anywhere else such as severe vomit, severe diarrhea or heavy sweating. If your kidney function is normal, urine will be maximally concentrated with low volume &amp; dark color when you are thirsty due to high sodium in your blood because you do not drink enough fluid.

Dark urine: The kidneys are important for retaining the water you drink and preventing dehydration.  When you do not drink much the kidneys reabsorb as much water as they can resulting in dark concentrated urine.  When you drink water the excess water is removed and the urine becomes lighter.  Other causes of dark urine can be liver disease, blood, hemoglobin or myoglobin.  You can use a urinary dip stick.

Anyone with symptoms like this should have blood and urine testing, and a good history taken, to help figure out if there's a serious problem. Dark urine can contain blood, and protein loss with kidney damage can cause the swelling.
