i noticed a strange bruise on my leg today with very dark purple lines going through it. i have no pain and it's not even tender.  should i be worried?

Bruising: Some docs believe that the pulp of citrus will reduce bruising. I doubt it. Some people-esp. women-bruise easily from minor insults.  This is, fortunately, only skin deep. The dark purple are patent veins perhaps more superficial due to the slight swelling of the bruise.   This does not raise any red flags. It is simply a personal peculiarity that is not uncommon.

random yellow and dark purple bruising is appearing on my legs that hurt. i know i don't knock my legs on anything. why?

Seek advice: This sounds like easy bruising and requires a health evaluation, including a review of medications and having blood tests done.

Worth checking out: Bruising without an obvious cause may indicate a blood clotting abnormality. While there are many causes both known and unknown, your best course is to see your physician and have this evaluated.

Probably not: Watch the bruise to see if it resolves. We often get injuries we do not recall. If it does not resolve, then seek more advice.

See a physician: If this is a bruise which has occurred without obvious trauma, then you may need to be evaluated for possible bleeding disorder.  Could there have been an insect bite?  I would recommend seeing a physician if there is no improvement or if you start seeing other similar lesions.

i fell at training today a week ago i smacked my knee of a wooden log dark purple bruising and swelling still if i touch it looks like its bleeding.

Hard to say : More without seeing and examine the Knee.  It could be a significant hematoma or underlying soft tissue damage. If you are worried get evaluated in person. Good luck.

i found a round quarter size dark purple bruise on my thigh 6 in above my knee. it's raised like a bump don't recall hitting anything should i worry?

If you have a: new onset bruise - I wouldn't worry too much. Injuries can occur without us being aware. However, if this does not recede (as a bruise normally does) than medical evaluation may be considered. Take care.

i banged the side of my knee on like a wooden bench, i have a bruise &it was green dark, now today it's purple &sore is it ok? &when will it go away?

Should be ok: Bruises will become darker and sore as times goes by. If you can walk, bend, flex your knee without falling over, you probably do not need an X ray. Rest, Ice, Tylenol, (acetaminophen) light wrap can help. If worse get checked. Feel good.

3-4 days ago noticed dark purple bite on inside of left knee. very itchy @ 1st, now not as bad but yellow bruise nearby. should i be concerned?

Ecchymosis (Bruise): It sounds like you are describing easy bruising.  This is almost always abnormal in someone 31 yrs old.  You need to have this checked out and have testing done to find out why you are experiencing this problem.  There are many causes for easy bruising.  Some causes are relatively benign, but some are very serious.  Get it checked out.  Good luck to you.
