Constipation: My first gut sense as a physician is that you must be dehydrated. Your body is trying to compensate by keeping ahold of as much fluid as possible. This can lead to constipation and dark urine.

Please begin drinking fluids until your urine returns to normal.

If you are not having any fevers or pain from the constipation one of the tricks is to drink three liters of fluids in one hour.

It Depends: If it is literally the color of dark tea or coca cola, there may be blood in the urine. A dark golden or yellow may only means your child needs more fluids. This means it is possible there is a serious problem. If there is a concern, call your pediatrician.

Odd question: The kidneys work to rid the body of waste solids by diluting them in various amounts of water. As long as you consume plenty of fluids, the urine will be dilute.If you sweat off or otherwise loose fluids and do not keep up with oral intake, the urine will be thick/cloudy. Some illnesses will result in cloudy urine. Blood tests are the primary way to gauge the kidney function beyond urine output.

Vitamin B 12: There is seldom a need for anyone with a normal diet in the usa or canada to need supplemental vitamins of any kind.  With B12 it may take several years to become low if you have no gastric acidity due to medications or illness or you have pernicious anemia or infection with the fish tapeworm.  Don't know what this has to do with flank (if it is really your kidney) pain, but would stop.

: You have beeturia. Your body or what you eat is causing the pigment to get into your blood stream and you kidneys pee it out .  I had it once an it was scary till I remembered eating beats. You can google I for moe info.

37m, alt raised with dark urine since 5 yrs all other tests, usg normal. waiting biopsy date. fasting 15 hrs for 24 days has improved urine color (less dark) even its summer n i drink 2-4 glass per day? can it indicate metabolic issue.nafld?

: If your liver function test only showed high ALT, dark urine in this case is not associated with liver problem because high bilirubin should be present with routine blood test. Persistently high ALT alone is not consistent with NAFLD. You should abstain from drinking if you worry about your health. With the limited information provided, I can't predict the biopsy result.
