You haven't: developed new veins; they just look different! The venous/vein system is very susceptible to changes in blood volume, and when the volume is reduced, such as in dehydration, veins can appear more prominent, more deeply colored, etc. From your description, doubt due to trauma. My prediction is that if you pump up the fluids your veins will go back to looking "normal" to you. Good wishes:)

If you feel: Also that the vein is  firm, can't be collapsed you may have a clot in the vein. Did you give blood, was blood taken for a test, was the vein used for IV medications, was trauma involved, was you arm pit examined, was thoracic outlet syndrome excluded, etc. Etc. So many things that only a good md could look for and detect. Before treatment is diagnosis... Se a doctor...

Vascular tumor: This small mobile painless mass is most likely a vascular tumor.  It is benign.  Unless it grows or becomes painful you do not have to worry about it.  It would not hurt to show it to a primary care physician so that he/she has a baseline to follow this tumor each time you visit.

i have dark veins in my right arm, when i lift my arm the veins go away, when i put it down they get really dark. should i be concerned?

Accepted Answer

Normal: As long as the veins empty and collapse upon elevation they are acting normally. If they remained distended, then some sort of obstruction would be suspected. Since venous blood doesn't have as much oxygen as arterial blood, the veins would have darker color.

noticed quite a few new blue visible veins all over body, but especially on inside of right arm. sign of dehydration or something more serious?

Probably not serious: Dehydration is very common.  Signs of dehydration include feeling thirty, dry mouth, poor skin tone, light-headedness, decreased urination.  More severe dehydration may cause headache, stomach pain, and/or passing out.  Drink lots of water.  Try to keep yourself well hydrated by never allowing yourself to feel thirsty.  If the blue veins are no longer visible, then it probably is dehydration.

Blood clot.: Worst case scenario, this could be a blood clot. You need a Doppler right away. Did you sleep on something that went under your right arm?  Get to an ED, if you haven't already.  Isn't CentraState near you?

Not necessarily: Pathological superficial arm veins are not usually flat but are distended and Don't collapse when elevating the arm above the shoulder.  However if the vein pattern is noticeably different in the left arm in comparison to the right arm, consult your physician or a vascular surgeon for evaluation.

is medicine enough for small blue vein in oestaphagus,symptoms heartburn sometimes n pain arm n back,also lots of gas or surgery needed?

GERD: If  GERD  test for  h pylori  a bacreria that can exacerbate GERD- needs antibiotics. Also may be food intolerances-milk,gluten, soy -check by blood /skin tests If  not improved after 6 weeks of therapy- may need  EGD -  a  look at  esophagus w/ scope for  ulcers or strictures-tigtening. Check gall bladder w/ ultrasound. Surgery  is rare, bleeding/ cancer. f/u/doc
