Mouth: Could be your uvula which can he infected or traumatized from hot liquids. Start with a salt water gargle and a spray like chloraseptic but you should have it checked out and possibly cultured. May need antibiotics

Call your doc!: Swelling  and difficulty swallowing  is considered a potential emergency because it can rapidly result in an aspiration event resulting in an airway blockage. Since several possible reasons can explain your uvula swelling up, the cause can be found out while in the hospital- however your priority right now is to protect your airway- seek medical attention now!

Yuk!! See A Doctor!!: Did it move??... Well, whether or not it did, you should get it checked-out by a doctor. It could be something stuck in there from something you ate (most commonly a teeny little fish bone) or maybe it was a small amount of pus from an infection. Use your imagination for whatever else it could be-- but it should be evaluated in-person, especially since it hurts and isn't going away.

That : That is called your "uvula". It can be swollen for many different reasons, including but not limited to infection, dehydration, and inflammation. Seek the help of a physician to determine the cause and the proper course of treatment.

a month ago i had a sore throat w puss/swelling. tx w/ amox bid x 10days w great response despite - strep swab. now, same thing. swollen/ red again. - strep, and culture. neg covid, neg flu. taking amox again 875mg bid x 10days. what are we missing?

: Throat cultures are very accurate in detecting bacterial pathogens. Viral illnesses are not treated with antibiotics and may also cause a sore throat. Mono is a consideration and a test may be ordered by your physician. Check the dosing of your Amoxicillin with your PCP. An inadequate dose may result in persistent or recurrent symptoms. Watch for problems swallowing and respiratory difficulty.

Throat swollen: Based on what you have provided, it's impossible to tell.  The throat is quite complex and there are glands, muscles, lymph nodes that all could be affected.  There are even very large blood vessels and some nerves that could be contributing to what you are describing.  Because of the concern for breathing and swallowing when it comes to problems with the throat, you should have an evaluation soon.

Throat discomfort: This can be from acid reflux and can also cause nausea, but may also be post nasal drip from nasal allergies. Depending on other symptoms you have, the treatment differs.
