The pulp thing that hangs down in the middle of your throat is swollen & it's on my tongue preventing me from swallowing efficie ntly. is there something i can take at home without having to go to the doctor?

That : That is called your "uvula". It can be swollen for many different reasons, including but not limited to infection, dehydration, and inflammation. Seek the help of a physician to determine the cause and the proper course of treatment. See below link for more info.

If : If you are having difficulty swallowing due to an enlarged or inflamed uvula you should seek medical attention. I would suggest seeing an ear, nose and throat doctor for evaluation.
