The list of reasons to quit smoking is so long, and the potential benefits so great, any minor effect on your medications is negligible. If you are very concerned about this talk with the doctor who prescribed your Lamictal and Zoloft (sertraline). Regardless, at your age, if you stop smoking, your life will be so much better.

Physical deconditioning for any reason takes a toll. However, a person will gain stamina each day he/she walks and increases activity. Improved cognitive function follows. All of this reinforces the huge benefit of being away from toxins.

Smoking cold turkey: I have never taken care of anyone who smoked cold turkey. ;-) Eaten it yes.  But stoping smoking cigarettes all of a sudden can be very upsetting. Nicotine is VERY addictive. Glad you are feeling better and your risks of getting it dying from heart and lung problems is much improved already.   Keep up the good work!  As one who used to smoke Cigs I know how hard it is.

Not unusual: Smoke paralyzes cilia, tiny hairs that line the bronchial tubes that clear debris from the lungs. Now that you have stopped, your cilia have started to do their job of clearing out all of the tars & other gunk that has accumulated. Your sinuses will also now get a chance to clean out. This is a temporary phase. Of course, you might just have a cold:)
